The Town of Bridgewater has been approved by the Department of State as a passport acceptance facility.  While we do not process renewals (renewal guidelines), Passport Acceptance Agents at the Bridgewater Community Center (201 Green Street) accept applications for new passports or passports that have been expired for 5 years or more.
Our passport acceptance agents will be glad to answer your questions about the passport application process.  Additional information about passports, application fees, and international travel may be found at the State Department’s website at travel.state.gov. 

passport applications are accepted by appointment only, Monday through Friday, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  To make an appointment, please call B-Connected at (540) 908-4212. 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  1. COMPLETED APPLICATION (forms may be obtained from our office or filled out online and printed)
    • Black ink only, or printed out
    • Single-sided printing (2 pages)
    • No corrections; re-do if there are errors
  2. PROOF OF US CITIZENSHIP (any of the following may be submitted)
    • Previous U.S. Passport (undamaged; may be expired)
    • Original certified birth certificate (from a city, county or state; NOT a hospital certificate; NOT a card)
    • Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
    • Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship

  3. PROOF OF IDENTITY (any of the following may be submitted)
    • Current, valid driver's license
    • Military ID
    • Government ID
    • Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship
    • MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 must appear in person and BOTH parents/legal guardians must present proof of identity (more important info on minors)
  4. PASSPORT PHOTO (we offer photo services)
    • Passport photographs are free for town residents who present a B-Rec Membership Card.
    • Photographs cost $15 for non-town residents.
  5. PAYMENT
    • Check, money order, or cashier's check to go with application (NO cash), paid to U.S. Department of State.  1 per application
    • Cash or check for the federally-mandated application execution fee, and any photo fee, paid to Town of Bridgewater.  Can combine fees in one payment.
