Recycling

CoreySandy Bottom Recycle Center

Beginning on Saturday, June 20 you can bring your recyclables to the new Recycle Center at Sandy Bottom Park (610 East College Street). Scroll down for hours of operation.

Curbside recycling changed in an unexpected way with the start of COVID-19. The sorting and sifting required became a health risk for our maintenance crew. We scrambled to put together a Recycling Center at 20 Volunteer Drive. This has been minimally adequate, but we have a much better system taking shape.

We had expected that our center would be on Volunteer Drive, but then we found a much better location. If we move some things around, change some fencing, and pull down a little siding, we can use our building at 610 East College Street, alongside Sandy Bottom Park! All our bins will be protected from the weather. Also, there will always be a staff member there to help you with your materials.

How it works:

Residents will be responsible for taking their own, pre-sorted, recyclable materials to the new Recycle Center at Sandy Bottom Park (610 East College Street). Once at the drop-off location, residents will need to present a proof of residency (B-Rec card or Driver’s License).  Then the items will need to be placed into the appropriately labeled container. A staff member will be on site to provide assistance.
